A man has been arrested after Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was hit by an egg during a trip to a mosque, Sky News understands.
Mr Corbyn had been visiting the Finsbury Park Mosque and Muslim Welfare House in north London when the incident happened this afternoon.
One man, thought to be a pro-Brexit campaigner, has been arrested.
Sky News' chief political correspondent Jon Craig reports that Mr Corbyn was unhurt by the egg, which was pressed down on his head rather than thrown.
The Labour leader was taking part in the fifth annual Visit My Mosque day, in which Muslim places of worship across the UK open their doors to the public.
The Muslim Council of Britain, which organises the event, says around 250 places of worship would be welcoming people on Sunday to tackle negative stigma around Islam.

"Mr Corbyn got a warm welcome when he was round the corner at the Finsbury Park Mosque," said Jon Craig.
"But then he came here, to the Muslim Welfare Centre, with [shadow home secretary] Diane Abbott.
"While he was here in an upstairs room, a protester - a pro-Brexit protester we understand, according to eyewitnesses - placed an egg on his head."
PA reported that the attacker was overheard to say "when you vote you get what you vote for".
According to the Metropolitan Police, a 41-year-old man was "quickly" arrested on suspicion of assault after the incident.
It comes as the party's leadership continues to battle allegations of antisemitism and bias against Jews.
Speaking to Sky News, one former MP said that antisemitism was "intimately related" to Labour's politics under Mr Corbyn.
Joan Ryan said that antisemitism was "never" a problem before he became leader in 2015.
The Labour leader told Sky News last weekthat bullying does not exist on a "wide scale" in the party and there was "no place for harshness, bullying or anything else in the party".
Today's incident isn't the first time a senior Labour politician has been hit by an egg.
"I remember being present a few years back when Ed Milliband was Labour leader, and he had an egg thrown at him at a south London market," said Jon Craig.
During the 2001 election campaign, then-environment and transport secretary John Prescott was egged by a protester and responded by punching the man.
